We were given this coffee maker as a gift, and it made great coffee.We didn't need all the settings - all we use is brew, delay brew, and clean.The problem - it doesn't last.A good coffee maker should last for at least 5 years, this lasted slightly over a year.

Time to head to the store and purchase another coffee maker - as soon as I finish my soda.

First, if you are interested in this coffee maker.Buy the EC-BD15.Amazon has it for about $68 and free shipping.It is the same as the EC-BD15BA.We bought the EC-BD15.OurEC-BD15 had an inserted sheet in the instruction manual that corrects the manual by replacing the #3 filter wording for the #4 filter wording.The #4 filter fits fine, no cutting or anything.Apparently the the EC-BD15BA has the wording corrected in the manual and prints it on the box.If that is worth the difference in cost then go for it.It really just looks like a translation problem for the American market that uses #4 filters.
The coffee maker is exactly 15 inches tall.So make sureyou have room under a cabinet if you store it there. My wife says the coffee stays hotter than in our old Mr Coffee thermal model. This caraffe is unbreakable because it is solid steel.No glass insert like our old Mr Coffee.

Krups FMF5 Coffee Maker Review

Krups FMF5-14 10-cup programmable coffee machine, black.
I just don't understand all the negative reviews about this Krups Coffee Maker. Was there a plastic smell while brewing? Yes, but only the first time running only water through the machine & not at all since. Were there air bubbles in the gauge that tells you how many cups you are brewing? Again yes the first time I used it with water only. All I had to do is remove the plastic indicator, blow through it and presto no more bubbles. It really isn't rocket science.

I am not a a light coffee drinker & I have about 3-4 mugs a day, my coffee is very important to me, so when I read all the negative reviews about this coffee maker I panicked. I went out and bought a Cussinart Thermal Coffee Maker instead, that was a mistake.

I used to belong to the Gevalia Coffee Club & when I joined I got a free 12 cup non-thermal coffee maker. It made/makes great coffee. It is the one I have been using for over 8 years. I had learned years ago that even though it had the Gevalia name on it, it was actually made by Krups. I should of ignored the bad reviews of the Krup FMF5 Thermal Coffee Maker & go with a brand I know works great.

I returned my Cussinart, got this coffee maker & couldn't be happier. This Krups makes great coffee, keeps it hot for hours & is hassle free. It also has some nice features like a water filter in the reservoir & an empty reservoir warning just to name a few. There is no plastic taste in the coffee.

So just follow the simple instructions & recommendations, sit back & enjoy a great cup of coffee. Come back in a few hours & you can do the same.

I had one of these for about 3 months before it died.I used it to make about 5 cups a day and after a while it just quit working. Aparently the element burned out from the low water levels I was using.Mr. Coffee customer service was great though, after an email I had a replacement in just a couple days.When it worked, the coffee was good once I adjusted recipes to match the machine. The water filter is a nice touch if a bit pricey for replacements and it seemed to be effective. One hint, use hot water to preheat the carafe and the coffee will stay warmer longer.

Cuisinart Compact Coffee Maker 10-Cup Thermal Carafe Review

I normally buy only items that have many reviews and 4 or 5 stars.This coffee maker had only two reviews but I decided to take a chance especially since it could be returned within 30 days.Even though most thermal coffee makers had many good reviews, there were too many negatives for each.I am very happy with this on so far.I have not had any of the problems as with other types--coffee is hot, stays hot for quite some time, doesn't leak, easy pouring and cleaning, the coffee is good with not plastice taste, carafe fits properly.It does beep when the coffee is done brewing.Compact size is nice.I have not used the timer and probably never will.The best part is that there is a 3 year warranty --I hope it lasts that long!
