My Cuisinart DCC-1200 12-Cup Brew Central Coffeemaker, Black and Stainless Steel is still under warranty (bought from Amazon JUN 09) so I looked up the warranty on [...] and sure enough, it's warrantied. Called the Cuisinart number 18007260190, and after a bit of waiting talked to a rep who is sending my replacement Cuisinart DCC-1200FB Filter Basket for free. BTW: that Cuisinart website list these for $5.

Hamilton Beach 47111 BrewStation 12-Cup Coffeemaker Review

The coffee made by this unit is great! I love not having glass on the counter and for the most part the plastic surface is cool to the touch other than the top vent. If properly cleaned, the unit shouldn't drip at all, though I HAVE had to clean it more often it seems than traditional drip coffeemakers with the hard water where I live. The numbers on the window in earlier models (I have two, one for home with a timer, and one for work without) are difficult to read once the plastic becomes discolored, but bleach out fairly well with cleaning. On one unit, the reservoir handle broke for no apparent reason, but that may have been a fluke. The markings for both the removable reservoir and the water tank on these earlier models are difficult to read in low light, when sleepy and/or without glasses. I also wish there was a timer for how long it says on because it really does tend to shut off too early; it seems I'm pushing the button on it every time I walk by. I'd purchase again though and think you'll find this coffee maker one of the best for it's price.

B&D 12 CUP COFFEEMAKER PRGRMBL. LCD DISPLAY Review

Purchased to replace a Mr. Coffee that finally gave up the ghost.Had comparable features like auto brew timer and auto shut off.Will be replacing it soon with another Mr Coffee. When you pour the first and second cups you can expect to make a mess with the dribble carafe. It is difficult to fill the coffee maker with water without making another mess. I dont know why they added a splash bar across the fill area but it does make filling it with water a challenge.On the positive side the brew timer and suto shut off work well and it makes coffee as you would expect. The big down side is that useability is lacking.

Briel ED132AFB Sintra Espresso Machine with Drip Coffeemaker Review

I won't repeat what has come before but first I will inform how to avoid the challenges that other reviewers label flaws.
First:space under coffee holder is too small for a mug.True, but the plastic tray and stainless steel grill slide out easily leaving plenty of room for a mug.When I discovered it I thought it was an intentional design feature.Also, even with the top tray out there is still another below to capture spills.
Second:filling water reservoir.I prefer the squat frothing jugs by Krups which hold a lot of milk and water.They are perfect for filling the reservoir without moving the machine and with plenty of clearance between the machine and the cupboard above.Only two jugs will fill it up as they do hold a lot.
Other Comments:
It does use pods but of the filter type (Starbucks) not Nescafe.One feature not spoken of in detail is the cup size control.With other machines you have to turn them off when enough coffee has been made.If you are like me and multitasking, you may forget and make a watery cup at best or empty your machine on the counter at worst.The Briel has a dial to select the amount of coffee produced creating a very consistent cup.In addition, the steamer produces steam nearly immediately with just a tiny dribble so small you can ignore it.The steam volume is incredible. Sloppy steamed milk production will make a mess, as it should.
The real flaw:It should come with two coffee holders for production line results.When you are having a party and everyone wants espresso the machine is fast, with you as the limiting factor.Your own speed of emptying the coffee holder, rinsing it out, filling it, tamping (the machine has a great built in tamper which I have never seen on any other brand) and pushing the button is the problem.Lastly, the front panel may be plastic but it can take repeated scrubbings with mild abrasives without harm.Treat it nicely and it should look good forever.

Flavia J10NBK Fusion Drinks Station Review

I won't attempt to compare this machine to the other brands out there, but I CAN attest to the fact that Flavia is darn good coffee.

My office has the great big Flavia machine that automatically disposes of the used packs, and is plumbed for water.Right beside that machine we have a coffee maker that is only brewed with Starbucks.For the past three years, the Flavia machine is ALWAYS more popular.It's just fun to use also.

For anyone considering the middle of the line SB100 machine, keep in mind that it does NOT handle multiple-pack brews.That means no creamy toppings.

This machine comes with the Drinks Medley for $20 extra.I couldn't find the contents of that Medley anywhere, so here it is:

So, you get 34 brew packs worth about 45 cents each, plus the syrups and sprinkles (about $2 more), and the travel mug (worth about $7).That's about a $24 value for $20.The Medley is definitely NOT worth the normal price of $30.

The Flavia does have one BIG downside (hence 4 stars) - there are very few places that carry the brew packs.Worse, most of the on-line stores can only sell to certain states per their agreement with Flavia.So, you may very well be forced to buy your refills from Flavia.net.A 'rail' of 20 coffee or tea packs runs about $8.50-9.50.The creamy topping is 25 cents a pack.Add shipping and tax, and that creamy cappuccino with sprinkles costs over a buck for a 7oz cup.The going rate at E-bay is 40 cents a pack before shipping.Once Amazon starts selling Flavia coffees, this machine will get 5 stars.

UPDATE:
I've made about a dozen cups of coffee with this machine.The adjustable height of the dispenser is really handy; if you lower till it touches the rim of your cup, there will be no splashing.You really should dab a paper towel underneath the dispenser after you use it (especially if you just used creamy topping or choco).I can see how the machine can get yucky if you don't do this.The machine IS surprisingly noisy, but only for about 15 seconds per cup.Flavia makes great brew packs - they do not leak when you remove the used ones.Of course, if you squeeze a used coffee pack, it will leak.

The medley kit comes with a travel cup, yet the cup is too tall for the machine as pictured.You need to remove the overflow tray to make it fit.The travel cup holds 14 ounces (two brew packs worth) comfortably.

If you are going to be buying disposable cups for this machine, I recommend getting 8 ounce and possibly 16 ounce cups.This way, you can keep the volume setting on the machine at 7 ounces, using one or two coffee packs, respectively.If you use your own coffee cups, you're going to have to constantly be changing the volume setting for different cups.We bought cheap styrofoam cups from our local warehouse store and keep a stack (with lids) nearby.

Hamilton Beach 43501H 12 Cup Proctor-Silex Coffeemaker Review

I've had this coffee maker for about a week and have used it every morning.It works just fine - quiet, simple, very basic.I especially appreciate the black fill markings inside where the water goes, this is so helpful to those of us with not-so-great vision.The only thing that I wish it had is a removeable lid on the carafe.Washing and drying the carafe would be so much easier if the lid snapped off.I've tried gently to take it from its hinge but it does not come away and I don't want to force it.UPDATE - I am now able to remove the lid for ease of washing and rinsing.I just had to sort of force it off one day and it has gotten easier now to take off and put back on.If they had said the lid was removeable in the instructions I would have tried sooner.

Proctor Silex 12-Cup Coffeemaker - White (43531) Review

I don't agree with the previous customer. It is certainly not true for my coffee maker of the same model! I have had it for over a year now, using it on average about 2-3 times/ week and it's holding up just fine. Exactly what I expected for that kind of money - no extras, not very sturdy looking, but brewing coffee when I need it to!
I must admit, I broke the carafe about two weeks after I had purchased the coffee maker by accidentally throwing it on the hardwoord floor, and a replacement pot would have been more than the whole new thing. So I ended up buying the same coffee maker twice within a month (luckily it was on sale both times!), but other than that I have no complaints.

Capresso 4490 10-Cup Stainless-Steel Vacuum Replacement Carafe with Lid for Capresso ST600 Coffeemaker Review

I received this carafe with my Capresso 4490.The 4490 has since gone to the coffee maker trash bin while the carafe is still working.Now, I just make coffee and transfer it to the carafe.It truly does keep coffee warm for hours - 6-8 hours - if you make sure to close the top tight after each pour.The real test came when we had work done on the outside of our house in very cold weather and the workers kept the carafe outside with them.The coffee remained hot !I liked the carafe so well, I bought another just to have on hand and have used both for large crowds.I have never experienced a carafe that works as well as this one.

Alfi Avanti 44-Ounce Carafe Review

I make a full pot of coffee (12 cups) in the morning and use it over two days by keeping it in the Alfi Avanti Carafe.The Avanti holds 10 cups and does a good job keeping the contents warm.I usually heat my poured cup of coffee in the microwave because no thermos keeps it as hot as I like it.The screw-on lid is a little difficult to use, but there is a convenient trigger on it for pouring, so you only have to fight with the screw cap when filling or emptying the carafe.The Danish design looks great.I prefer the colbalt blue because it does not show coffee stains like the lighter colors do.It's best to use a bottle brush with some baking soda and dish detergent and let it soak overnight.You cannot put it in the dishwasher.

Melitta MEMB1 Mill & Brew Coffeemaker Review

I researched a grind and brew coffee maker for 3 months before purchasing this one.I'm thrilled with it. I used to work at prominent kitchenware store and didn't hear good customer reviews about the Cusineart Grind and Brew and the Capresso....The Melitta makes a great cup of coffee, it's easy to use, grinds the beans quickly and you get your choice of course to super fine.The only programing is easy as is the clean up...no hassle which was important to me.The only thing I have noticed is that you need to use more scoops of beans than specified. This is a large capacity coffee / tea carafe with a PHENOMENAL ability to hold temperature; even after 8-10 hours, beverages are still warm. This is from Zojirushi's restaurant / hotel line and not really intended for home use; it's expensive and has a funny lid intended to fit directly under a drip coffeemaker. But highly recommended if you want to make coffee once and keep it hot all day.
