JavaStudio Series 14 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker Review

I purchased this coffee maker when my wife saw it at Lowes and couldn't stop talking about it; something quite unusual for her.Considering the age of our current coffee maker, I bought it on the next trip out.

A few days into life with the JavaStudio and all is very well.The coffee is great, the machine looks great and I have no complaints to register.Coffee is hot and stays that way without tasting burnt even after a great deal of time (90 minutes tested so far but the maker shuts off after 120).Since what is "hot" in terms of coffee is relative, some people may not find it hot enough, however the hotter it is the more likely it is to have a burnt taste after 45 minutes, which is really bad.This was certainly hot enough for me and my tastes.I would say after pouring the mug I could comfortably drink it after 2-3 minutes.For me I wait about 5-6 minutes after getting Starbucks coffee before I can drink that comfortably.I hope this seemingly useless info gives a general idea about this.

Easy to use, large capacity (14 cups) and a classy, good look earns this coffee maker 5 stars.

Mr. Coffee FTX29 12-Cup Coffeemaker, Red Review

I've read some bad reviews for this coffeemaker, but based on the reputation of Mr. Coffee (and the drop-dead good looks) we decided to buy it anyway.

I'm glad we did.

We've had it for a few months and with no coddling or extra care it has faithfully performed its daily duty without any problems whatsoever. It is beautiful, easy to clean, makes good coffee, and did I mention beautiful? We use it every day we are at home (which has been all but a couple), and I have done nothing except put coffee in it, fill it with water, and press "brew now" every day. Oh, and rinse out the decanter along with an occasional hand-wash.

The removable filter basket is nice, too, although we also have a reusable "gold" filter basket that we remove instead. The adjustable warmer temperature keeps the coffee at what I consider a "drinkable" temperature. The auto-off function is nice, but it comes with an audible alert that may or may not be to your liking. It also beeps when the coffee is done brewing. Once again, could be annoying but I haven't had an issue with it.

I do have a few small issues with it, but they are very minor. The Melitta fast brew machine it replaced made coffee that I think tasted *slightly* better and it certainly made that coffee faster. The Mr. Coffee will not win any races. I would attribute the taste to the "V" shaped filters/basket used by Melitta. As for speed, set the timer if you need it to be done by a certain time.

I really haven't done anything special to maintain the machine and it has been flawless. Maybe the folks over at Mr. Coffee responded to complaints and made improvements? Maybe the folks who have written bad reviews are Cuisinart employees trying to sabotage their competitor? (kidding) Either way, don't be afraid to trust your morning elixir to this stylish and functional coffeemaker.

Hamilton Beach 40132H Electrics All-Metal Coffeemaker, Carmine Red Review

I ordered this from kohls because they had it in cobalt blue.when it stopped working in 10 days I called Hamiliton Beach and after what was more like an arguement they agreed to send me another. The new replacement stopped working in 14 days.The water doesn't heat or move to the coffee ressvoir.The heat plate heats an empty pot because brewing never starts.It is a beautiful coffeemaker. In each color it comes in it is simply a work of art. Like art it doesn't do anything but look pretty.It is amazing that it stops working it made with heavy metal.It is almost as heavy as my Kitchen-aid cobalt blue stand mixer.Their must be a manufactur defect the company refuse to correct. Don't buy, it will die!!

Mr. Coffee Red Coffeemaker-12 Cup Review

I purchased this coffee maker from Target to replace my Cuisinart that died. It is a nice looking coffee maker and the functions are very well laid out and easy to use. I really like this coffee maker except for 2 things that make it a deal breaker for me. 1. The opening of the carafe is to narrow to allow for your hand to get in and properly clean it, and 2. The coffee is just not hot. It comes out of the machine at 160F and I have to further heat it if I use milk from the refrigerator(not an issue with the Cuisinart). If you take your coffee black, use powder creamer or non refrigerated creamer it should be fine. I am giving it away and going back to the Cuisinart.

I love the color.that is why I bought it.I had it for 2 months.There is just a tiny plastic piecewhichhooks over the top of the glass caraf from the handle.no more than 1/2 inch square.this is all that holds the glass carafe onto the top of the pot.It broke off.very dangerous with a whole pot of hot coffee.The bottom of the handle stayed attached but is VERY loose with out the top being attached also..

Hamilton Beach 43253 Ensemble 12-Cup Coffeemaker with Glass Carafe, Red Review

We had no need for a new coffee pot.The free one from Gevelia was working just fine.However, on a recent trip to K-mart we caught this one on sale for just under 40 bucks, and it's RED!We've slowly been building up a counter top of red kitchen appliances, so the coffee maker fits right in!

Easy to clean!The mouth of the pitcher is as wide as the base, so it's easy to get your hand inside to clean it out unlike some.Few buttons, so it's easy to program too.Very light weight, so it's also easy to move the maker around if needed.No complaints about speed either.I never feel like I'm waiting on it to finish.One small complaint, but it's nothing major...there is no room for going over the 12 cup limit.It will overflow!Some makers have a little room for you to overfill, but not this one! No biggie, just don't overfill!

I also like the wide karaff on this one.A lot of pitchers have a weird karaff that always causes you to spill a few drops when pouring that first cup.Not this one!Clean up of the coffee ground chamber is easy too.I suggest investing in one of those permanent copper reusable filters.They work really well with this one. I have yet to end up with grounds in the coffee.
