Nespresso D150 Espresso & Cappuccino Maker Review

The Nespresso D150 is so easy to use and maintain and it makes the best espresso I have ever had. It could not be simpler to use:1. fill the cleverly designed water container (it has a handle that makes it easy to place it in the receptacle behind the machine) 2. turn on the power switch 3. wait about 60-90 seconds for the yellow light to go off (which indicates the water has reached the proper temperature) 4. put in your favorite pre-ground/pre-tamped/pre-measured coffee capsule 5. place your espresso cup under the handle 6. turn the switch in front and then within seconds you will have made delicious espresso (with incredible crema!) with your own two hands! : ) The only thing that I don't love about the D150 is the frother. I have yet to make great foam with it. No matter how hard I try I always end up with a tiny bit of foam and a pitcher full of scalding hot milk. Maybe I'm not doing it right? I'm not sure. Whatever the case, I still love the Nespresso D150 and I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. The best part of owning it is the reaction from your friends when they taste your espresso for the first time.They won't believe you did it all by yourself! Over all, if you're like me (a complete novice "barrista" who's addicted to good coffee) , you'll enjoy the simplicity of the Nespresso's design, the convenience of the capsules, and the way that this machine makes it easy for just about ANYONE to make great espresso at home.Bye Bye Starbucks!

For years, have enjoyed the Capresso 121.Clever design, good espresso for the price, good entry level machine.Come Father's Day last, decided to splurge on a big step up.A lot of money and so approached this with considerable trepidation.Has proven to be worth every penny.

After months of heavy use, machine continues to reliably make outstanding espresso with complete control: grind, amount of grounds per cup, size of pour for espresso shot and for crema, program to optionally purge each time turned on, ... Can easily bypass hopper to do a shot from grounds you have prepared yourself: essential for us when entertaining for those who want decaf or for when my wife or I want to try a special roast.

Steams milk effectively and continually.Hot water for tea works fine. Easily kept spotless clean inside and out.

Bit of a coffee nut -- roast my own specialty beans each week.This machine gets the most out of the carefully selected beans and carefully chosen roast levels.When we travel out-of-town for the weekend, I even have been known to sneak the Palazzo in the car knowing my wife will tease me but also knowing that there are very few local coffee shops around our state that take the care necessary to match what we will have at hand in the motel room.

Capresso 121.01 Ultima Semi-Automatic Coffee and Espresso/Cappuccino Machine Review

About a year ago I wanted an espresso machine that was easy to use, however I was unwilling to pay 1k or more for a fully automatic machine. The Capresso turned out to be an excellent value, providing ease of use with semi-automatic ground disposal and a reasonably sized water container.
In fact, we have experienced only two problems with the Capresso since we bought it: a torn o-ring and clogging. The o-ring tore because I did not clean the rotation mechanism for several months. The accumulated grounds eventually tore into the o-ring, breaking the pressure seal. However, when I called the Capresso help line to discuss our broken o-ring, the help desk agent immediately sent us two replacements in the mail with no questions asked. Total down time for the machine was a mere two days. The clogging was fixed with a complete cleaning, and if truth be told, it did say in the instruction booklet not to use very finely ground coffee.
Our last espresso machine, besides breaking after two years, was so difficult to use and clean we only made espresso on special occasions. The Capresso is convenient enough that we use it all the time. In fact, we have used our Mr. Coffee only twice (note the broken o-ring comment above) since we bought the Capresso.
After a year of use, I can still strongly recommend this product.
