Deni 15600 40-Cup Stainless-Steel Coffee Urn Review

Deni 15600 40-Cup Stainless-Steel Coffee UrnHeats very quickly; I like the gauge on the front to tell me how much stuff is left. The position of the spigot is high enough to fill most cups and other vessels. My biggest gripe is that the urn never seems to get to a point at which it just quietly maintains the heat of the contents; it always sounds like it does when initially heating the liquid. And that's not quiet, so it's noisy all during use; I don't know if it's because I took out the percolator stem, since I'm only heating water. I like the power cord; like a computer, it can be unplugged from either end, but you have to be careful if you just unplug it from the urn, since the open end of the power cord is still live wall current and could cause a shock if there is water on the countertop. I think the urn should have its own built in on-off switch.

Product Description:
Beautifully housed in brushed stainless steel, this large-capacity coffee urn can brew up to 40 cups of coffee at cup-a-minute speed--great for parties, business meetings, and other large gatherings. Best of all, its two-way dripless spout allows for single-cup or continuous filling, making it possible to fill a separate carafe or for guests to serve themselves with convenient one-handed dispensing. The coffee urn also provides interior water-level markings for accurate filling, a stainless-steel filter basket and stem to ensure great-tasting coffee, and an easy-to-read coffee-level indicator to gauge how much coffee remains. Other highlights include a twist-lock lid, cool-touch handles and base, boil-dry protection for safety, and dishwasher-safe parts for quick cleanup. A nice compliment to the Deni Buffet Servers, the 1400-watt coffee urn measures 12-1/2 by 11-1/2 by 18 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

West Bend 58002 12-42 Cup Automatic Party Perk Coffee Urn Review

West Bend 58002 12-42 Cup Automatic Party Perk Coffee UrnI am pretty particular about coffee.I like to gind my own beans and have never used a perc coffee pot in the past. But we were having a huge family gathering and I needed a lot of coffee.

I ordered this Party Perk machine and when it came in I almost returned it because it seemed so flimsy, but I figured I'd give it a chance.

I'm glad I did.All the information I read on the Internet about coffee said that perc'd coffee is not very good because the water is boiled and constantly recirculated through the grounds and this does not equate to how to achieve the best tasting coffee.

Well, while this was not the BEST coffee I have ever had, the coffee was none-the-less very good.I used Berkley and Jensen ground coffee (available at BJ's Wholesale club)and I could not have been more pleased with the results from this Party Perk.I used a little more than 2-1/2 cups of ground coffee for the full 42 cups and the information I read about expecting the pot to brew the coffee at one cup per minute seemed pretty accurate.

There were a lot of compliments on how good the coffee tasted. It did not taste burned, even after being kept warmed in the pot for a few hours.

I cannot comment on the durability of the machine as I haven't had it that long.My parents saw this pot and remarked that they had the same one for many many years before they gave it away and never had the first bit of trouble with it.
