love this product, it can easily make 9 shots of esspresso at a time and only takes about 10 min. to do so.

We purchased this unit from Bed Bath & Beyond as a replacement to the Hamilton Beach 40515 (HB) coffee urn (which was better in our opinion).
Heats very quickly; I like the gauge on the front to tell me how much stuff is left. The position of the spigot is high enough to fill most cups and other vessels. My biggest gripe is that the urn never seems to get to a point at which it just quietly maintains the heat of the contents; it always sounds like it does when initially heating the liquid. And that's not quiet, so it's noisy all during use; I don't know if it's because I took out the percolator stem, since I'm only heating water. I like the power cord; like a computer, it can be unplugged from either end, but you have to be careful if you just unplug it from the urn, since the open end of the power cord is still live wall current and could cause a shock if there is water on the countertop. I think the urn should have its own built in on-off switch.
The Bialetti 6 cup espresso maker occaisionally needs replacement gaskets due to wear and tear or if overheated.This replacement is reasonably priced and arrived quickly.Why buy a new system when the gasket can be replaced.But, alas, we couldn't find any in stores.Thanks to Amazon we are back to making espresso the traditional way.Will order again when needed.Bialetti 06951 replacement gasket for 6 cup coffee makers.
A good-looking coffee pot and makes a good cup of coffee. However, a nine-cup pot actually makes only 8 cups. I really enjoy the smell of fresh coffee being made in the morning and seeing the coffee perculating through the glass top. Nonetheless, after making less than a dozen pots of coffee, while pouring coffee in a cup the glass top just broke off and tumbled into the cup.So order a couple of more glass perculator tops along with the pot because the pot is useless without it.
This is a great little coffee percolator, especially for the inexpensive price. For one person it makes more than I need, since the full "8 cups" comes out to about 4 normal mugs full.
What a great cup of coffee this little pot makes! Easy to use and delicious.
This coffee maker WAS great! Now, less than a year later, it switches from Brew mode to Keep Warm ("Ready") mode prematurely before coffee is half brewed. It now delivers "coffee-stained" water that is not too warm. I think the thermostat has gone south because "Ready" light comes on rather quickly now and brewing stops abruptly. Good while it lasted; wasted money in retrospect.
Up until yesterday, this was the best little coffee percolator ever!Then I went to make my coffee as usual and plugged it in...but no coffee!It didn't even heat up the water!Looks like you really do get what you pay for :-(
I just got this item and I am not impressed.It is very small.When the package refers to 6 cups, it doesn't mean 6 measuring cups by any means, and I'm not sure they can even mean 6four ounce demitasse cups.The coffee maker will hold 16 ounces.
We had a much smaller (3 cup) version of the stove top espresso maker that we had been using, after going through 2 plug in espresso machines. I like how fast this is, even for the big size, and the fact that there are so few parts - fewer parts to break or that would need to be replaced, unlike the plug in espresso makers. However - specific to this stove top espresso maker - you have to be very careful to twist the top on, all the way, perfectly aligned. Otherwise you end up with water all over your stove, which squeezes out when it heats up if the top hasn't been screwed on correctly. This appears to be a small design flaw, as we apparently cross threaded it once or more, which made it harder to correctly thread subsequent times.

Purchased two pots, the first broke after one use.The second stop working after the third pot of coffee.Quality control lacking.
We love this coffee maker.The only drawback is that it does not have an auto shut-off. it frequently gets left on over night. I'm buying a heavy duty timer to use with it. I ordered this on a Wednesday. Got a shipping confirmation email on Thursday and 2 hours later UPS walked in the door with it!
I loved this thing but it broke in two weeks.
Before I purchased this coffee pot about a year ago, I read reviews by others who said 'good coffee but lasted only a few months.'I thought to myself...'oh, those people must have been the unlucky few who got bad units...or they emersed the pot and ruined it.'I should have listened to their 'don't buy' pleas, and hope others will listen to my message of warning.
I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do enjoy my hot cocoa when I'm camping, and I'm a stickler when it comes to cleaning the pots and pans, both of which require really hot water.This pot, with it's generous 3 quart capacity has proven itself to be an invaluable part of my camp kitchen.Camping is a bit of a compromise in most areas, but it's comforting to have a ready supply of hot water for drinks and cleaning.I'm glad I bought this, and at about $20 is the best deal I've been able to find for this kind of item.I highly recommend it.
I do not understand what has happened in the coffee maker industry.It seems as if every coffee appliance I buy fails.This one is no exception.I bought this one only because most of the reviews praised it.Now I am sure that the reviews are phony and must be posted by the manufacturer.There is no control over the time of percolation which for whatever reason has been designed to be too short.The coffee comes out weak especially if you try to make less than 12 cups, the water just doesn't make it through the strainer for less cups???The manual suggests using 20 spoons for 12 cups of strong coffee.At this rate I will essentially be using double the coffee grinds to make the same amount of coffee as I did with a much older Faberware I had and the coffee is still weak.The new faberwares are just as bad as everything else manufactured these days.The reviews and the item description also touts that this coffee percolator has a glass knob.This is an outright lie, it is plastic!!!!I was initially pleased with the design although I feel it is made with a lighter guage metal than it should be.I would gladly pay double for this product if it worked.Don't buy it, it is another coffee maker dud!!!!!
First of all, the reason we bought this is because, in general, percolators make great tasting coffee.They can turn even the worst quality beans into a good cup of coffee.Initially, the Presto lived up to our expectations.And after doing the following, it is once again making great cups of coffee.
