Presto 09402 MyPod Refillable Replacement Pod (Senseo) Review

While walking through my local Wal-Mart I came upon this gem, at first I just glanced by it then had to take a double look. Sure enough there it sat, the item I envisioned but never found nor ever heard of, until now. Ive seen those other types of re-useable coffee pod holders but all pretty much had bad reviews, and honestly looked to cheap to do the job right.

Now at home and to give it a try. The box contains a holder, cover, filters, and a scoop. The holder replaces the original Senseo pod holder and houses the rest of the parts. At the bottom of the holder you place a filter then fill with 1 to 1-1/2 scoops of coffee grinds and compact with the cover. The cover remains in place while brewing. Next place the whole assembly into the Senseo and the rest is as normal.

Clean up can be a hassle because now your dealing with loose grinds which is why I'll use this occasionally. Remove the cover and dump the grinds in the trash which most will fall out because of the filter. You'll need to rinse the holder and the cover.

TIP: After placing the filter in the holder wet it so it will stay in place when you place grinds onto it.

NOTES: As the instructions say, you should be careful when placing grinds into the holder as to not get grinds on the rim of the holder, if you do you must remove the grinds from the rim before placing into the Senseo. The next is that it says not to use finely ground coffee but doesnt give a reason why but I'm sure we all could venture at a guess because the bottom of the holder is not a finely mesh screen like the other cheaply made re-usable pods.

OVERALL: Its actually simple to use but I'll still primarily use pods because of the convenience. I'll use this when I want some 100% Kona coffee mostly, Kona coffee pods price out to about a buck a piece. This should help with that cost. Great gadget, 5 stars!

Another NOTE: Because the holder has many holes in it, it does not apply the same kind of back pressure that the original Senseo holder does with only one small hole. Because of this, using the 1-cup button produces about 1-1/2 cups while the 2-cup button will most likely overfill most large mugs in effect weakening the tastes. The perfect combination for me is 1-1/2 scoops of coffee then pressing the 1-cup button.

Nespresso C100 Espresso Machine, Essenza Single Serve Review

After a few days of use here are my comments for the C100T and Aerocinno. I am using the combo in a small office setting. The no mess of the espresso machine is great. The shots are really good and consistently good. The machine is very simple to use. Fill w/ water, turn on drop in espresso capsule, push button, and you are done. The only drawback I can mentinon is the capsules must be ordered from nespresso directly. In terms of cost they are significanlty more expensive than premium whole bean or ground espresso roast coffe (lavazza, petes, starbucks, etc.). So with regards to the espresso machine it is perfect for my office due to the no mess and no fuss cup of esspresso. Honestly, I love it. But in my home I will be keeping my Starbucks barista espresso machine due to the fact that it will take any espresso and at home it is easy to clean. The aerocinno is ingenious. It is the perfect compliment for any espresso machine with one caveat, the servings that it can make are only for one so if you are preparing multiple beverages are large single servings it must filled multiple times. If you overfill it, it will make a mess spilling over the sides. I am considering getting one of these for the home too due to the ease of use in comparison to the steamer attached to my espresso machine. In conclusion, I do reccomend this combo highly with the points mentioned above in mind.

I've tried the Gevalia cappuccino and this brand, and the Maxwell house is much less expensive, and every bit as good.Nice smooth flavor, not quite as strong with the expresso as I would like but still very good.This is going to be a regular selection for me because of its better value for the money-the other brand doesn't have enough of a difference in flavor to make up for the difference in price!
I'm genuinely pleased with Maxwell House Cafe Collection Cappuccino, and will try some of the other versions they have available in T-disks as well.

Starbucks Latte Primo, T-Discs for Tassimo Coffeemakers, 8 Count Packages (Pack of 2) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] Review

I am very impressed with Starbucks' Latte Primo. I love drinking strong black coffee, and also enjoy coffee drinks. My favorite T-Discs for coffee are Starbucks Caffe Verona and Africa Kitamu. Prior to sampling the Starbucks Latte and Cappuccino, my choice was Gevalia Latte and Cappuccino T-Discs because I found their espresso better (stronger) than Maxwell House's. Those two brands share the same creamers and although they are certainly acceptable, they have a stronger cooked milk flavor compared to Starbuck's.

Starbucks espresso is a great improvement over the Gevalia, and its presence in the Latte is key to my five star rating for the drink. I also prefer the new creamer developed by Starbucks. The creamer does contain a small amount of sugar, and although the reason for its inclusion is unclear, I didn't find the sweetness noticeable. The latte creamer produces a luxurious quantity of creamy decadent foam.

I have attached a picture of the latte while in the process of brewing because sometimes marketing photos don't look like the result obtained in real life. The cup in the pictures holds 8 ounces filled to the brim. The latte has 80 calories, 4 grams of sugar and 5 grams of fat. For me there is no turning back. Once I finish the remaining Gevalia Latte and Cappuccino I have on hand, Starbucks will be the only brand I'll buy.

Presto Mypod Coffee Filters Review

After staying at many Hilton Hotels that use this Cusinart Stainless Steel Coffee Pod Brewer, I had to have one to put in my bedroom. My bedroom now feels like a hotel room, the coffee takes no time at all and I reccomend getting "The POD" World Blend Coffee Pods (sold here on Amazon). I've since sent one to my best friend and she said it's "the best present she ever got". Love this!!! So convienient to have a coffee maker next to your bed!

Espressione Classic Coffee Pods, Box of 150 Review

Using the Briel Chamonix machine I purchased from Amazon, I have produced delicious lattes using these pods. The smell of the Espressione pods (regular and decaf) when opened is incredible - dark, rich roasts.FYI - the pods are produced in Italy, which is a good sign.Also, each pod has a handy paper "tab" so that you can remove it from your machine without burning your fingers.I compared these pods to Starbucks espresso pods (regular and decaf), and the Espressione are my favorite.Only one warning:150 pods (individually wrapped) take up a lot of space, so be sure you know where you're going to store them.More good news:each box of 150 is stamped with a "best if used by" date, which in my case was 16 months after the date of purchase.

I assume if you are reading this you already know what Tassimo is and all that and are just curious about this flavor.Well I can happily tell you it is really, really good.Packaged the same as all other milk coffee drinks you get the coffee pod and the milk pod.Here I believe the caramel flavoring is just integrated in with the espresso/coffee pod.
The flavor which I realize is not coming from real caramel is actually quite good.And when brewing you get a wonderful caramel smell.My wife likes these as much as the coffee she normally gets form Strabucks, and we can make it at home and save quite a bit of money.
So if you have yourself a tassimo and you like the caramel latte macchiato you gets at the coffee shop then I think you will be pleased with these.

Perfect Pod Maker Plus Bonus 50 Extra Filters Review

I purchased a single-serving coffee maker awhile ago and found myself burnt out on the available pod flavors. So I got this pod maker and I very much enjoyed being able to make my own pods. However, this product doesn't last very long. I have since read several reviews from other sites with the same problem. My pod maker worked great for about 9 months. After that the heating element would no longer heat. I called the number in the manual several times and got an answering machine every time. I left messages but never did get a response. I refuse to spend another 40 dollars for a product that doesn't even last a year. However, I did find a way to continue making pods. I took the product apart and removed the heating element and all the electronics. The plastic base is the only part you need to keep. I use a small travel size iron to heat the pods which seals them just as well if not better than the original heating element. You will want to use an iron without water to avoid get the pod wet while sealing it.

Note: This product will fail, but with a little adjustment you can still use it to make your favorite coffee pods.

This is probably one of the best cups of coffee you'll ever have.I bought the Tassimo coffee maker back in December '09 and I received several T-Discs samplers (after a mail-in rebate offer).Out of all the samplers I received, the Gevalia Signature Crema was by far the best.I ordered this brand from Amazon shortly after, and I've been hooked ever since.The aroma this coffee makes when it's brewing is amazing, the taste is even better.

Gevalia Swiss Hazelnut Coffee (Medium), 16-Count T-Discs for Tassimo Coffeemakers (Pack of 2) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] Review

My daughter likes this. It tastes just like anything Swiss Hazelnut should. Still has good strong coffee flavor but seems to need less sugar. Maybe it's just the smell, tricking us but either way I guess less sugar is a good thing. If you like Swiss Hazelnut flavored things you will like this.

I've had my Tassimo for a couple months now, and I've tried the Columbian, Africa Kitamu, Latte Prima and Caffe Verona. The latter two are my favorites. At $0.90/cup, the Verona isn't all that pricey, and with a little french vanilla creamer added, it's like having a Starbucks in my kitchen, only cheaper, faster, and more consistent. I LOVE my Tassimo. I just hope it doesn't break with all the use it's getting.
