Dreamfarm Charcoal Black Grindenstein Review

It's just what we needed. After a major bill to a plumber who told us that coffee grounds collect like sand and clog pipes, we decided that $30 for a knock box was money well invested.

As many have said, the box is too small for commercial use but it's perfect for home and it even fits under the pour spout on the espresso machine for storage. The rubber feet and squat design hold it steady on the counter. The bar is wide, sturdy and rubber coated so it's not likely to dent your filter unit. And the low cut front edge insures that you don't accidentally hit the handle or your finger on the edge.

I think $30 is too high of a mark-up, but nothing cheaper looked nearly as functional. If ours was stolen by a coffe loving burglar (I don't expect it will break) I would buy another immediately.

Timolino 16 oz. Aromatic Australian Press, black Review

This little unit is great. I cannot vouch for its coffee-making abilities, but it is excellent for making a cup of tea. The mesh filter is finer than the mesh used in most tea infuser balls, so that cup of African rooibos won't have bits of leaf floating around in it. It also brews a more flavorful cup of tea because the tea is free to float around in the liquid, unlike tea made with an infuser ball. It holds enough liquid to make one large mug of coffee or tea. It's quite durable too, as long as you don't use it as a football. The unit also fully disassembles for cleaning (hint: to remove the filter, just push the post on the middle of the filter assembly to the side, just make sure you don't lose the ball bearing - it's the part that stops the flow of liquid when you lift the unit off your mug.)

The only caveat is that if your favorite mug has a diameter greater than the average coffee mug, you'll have to dispense the liquid a little differently. Just rest one of the plastic tabs on the bottom of the unit against the outside of your mug's rim, and dispense the liquid.

This is a good knock box if there is only one person in the house drinking espresso.Perfect for someone like myself who only has a double shot every morning.It holds about 8 double shot "pucks" comfortably.The color in this picture is accurate.The red definately stands out on the counter!

Bodum Chocolatiere Glass Hot Chocolate Maker/Frother Review

This product was nice while it lasted, but that was less than 2 months.I purchased mine the week after Thanksgiving and used it a few times a week.I always washed it by hand, even though the instructions state that it's dishwasher-safe.However, after about 6 weeks, the plastic piece at the end of the mixing rod cracked in half and fell off, which rendered the product useless since that piece holds the propeller in place.

I e-mailed Bodum's customer service department, explained the problem, and asked them to replace the broken piece.They responded that the piece I needed would not be available for 4-6 weeks.I then told them that I had really enjoyed the product and did not want to be without my newly purchased hot chocolate maker for a month or longer in the middle of winter, when I use it the most, and asked that they send me a whole new Chocolatiere since they could not promptly replace the part that would make mine functional again.They refused, without further apology or explanation.I do not recommend this product (or any Bodum product, due to the poor service they provided).

Now that I cannot use my Chocolatiere, I tried what another reviewer recommended -- a whisk.It works just as well, at a fraction of the cost (and much less to clean).Just microwave the milk in a Pyrex measuring cup with spout, whisk in the cocoa powder and sugar, and pour into a drinking mug!Wish I had thought of that before I shelled out $30.

Bialetti "Brikka" 4-cup (6 Oz) Stove Top Espresso Maker Review

Greetings, I love this stove top espresso maker but there are some differences you may find of value.
1)- The boiler where you put the water can only be filled about 25% compared to most at 70% which means a rather large unit in relation to the amount of espresso you can make.
2)- Maintenance is more than others because this machine uses more pressure and there are more seals to replace when necessary. These are not readily available locally and you will probably have to have them shipped to you at an extra expense that may exceed your sense of reasonableness. Also..most of these types of machines come with extra seals. This unit doesn't come with any extra seals at all.
3)- The picture looking through the window at the top of the machine seeing the nice crema is a farce. The only way to see the nice crema if you carefully follow the directions is to lift the lid up and wipe the condensation off of the inside that is always present that blocks your view.
4)- Realize that this unit is made of Aluminum and some are concerned with the toxic effects of that if any gets into your Java that has high acidity content.

Plusus include -
1)- Very nice and tasty espresso superior to other stove top machines.(no aluminum taste)
2)- Really nice crema but only if yor coffee is of a fine grind #1, or #2 and the coffee needs to be freshly ground. If you buy pre-ground coffee packages at the market you will not be seeing any crema. I buy fresh coffee ground by the half pound at #1, or #2 fine grind and get really good results.

Bistro Double-Wall 30-Ounce Pour-Over Drip Coffee Maker with Gold Filter Review

I purchase a lot from Amazon.com, but have seldom been as impressed as I am by the Bodum Double-Wall Brewer.

I should not have been surprised, Bodum has been a leader incoffee makers (chiefly French press) and I already owned some of their unique double-walled glasses. They make the liquid seem to float in air.

Starting from the top, the included gold plated titanium filter is the best of its type I have seen. You can use standard paper filters with this brewer, but the gold filter lets all of the coffee's flavorful oils pass through while trapping the grounds.

The clear filter base that attaches with a silicone ring is made of heavy glass, not plastic.It can remain perfectly clear of stains and should never scratch.

Also included is a silicone stopper to cap off the carafe once brewing is done.

The glass carafe has a silicone grip, and silicone base bumper. The double walled construction not only looks great, but keeps the coffee warm for over an hour.

The base bumper is a good idea, although the glass is exceptionally strong, it is also exceptionally thin and will shatter without careful handling. I do not mark it down for this as thicker glass would destroy the liquid floating in space illusion.

I gave 2 as gifts, and both recipients were absolutely thrilled.I wish they were unbreakable (be careful with the glass filter holder as well) but cannot take marks away from Bodum for choosing the best possible construction for beauty, stain resistance, and taste.

Not for everyday use for those who are not careful. But for impressing guests, remove the bottom bumper when bringing the carafe to the table for the full effect.
